Window 6 - The East Window

Brampton - St Martin's Church

The east window commemorates Charles Howard, the father of George Howard, and is the outstanding feature of St Martinís.

It consists of three rows of figures set within five columns. Reading from left to right and from top to bottom: row one consists of two angels, the figure of Christ and a further two angels; row two consists of five angels; row three consists of St Martin, the Virgin Mary, a Pelican in her Piety, St Dorothy and St George. Mary, Dorothy and George were chosen because they were all Howard family names.

A hand-painted glass replica panel of St. Martin from the east window is available to buy from Winged Heart Stained Glass Gifts.
